Cancellation & Refund Policy

Cancel any time

You can cancel your plan whenever you like. Sign in, press Plan, then Update card or cancel. You can also email hello@rootsketch.com and we will do it for you.

What you pay after cancelling

There are no setup fees, so there is nothing extra to pay when you start or stop.
Monthly plans: nothing more after you cancel. The current month is not prorated or refunded, but you keep full access until the end of the month you already paid for.
Yearly plans: if you cancel within 14 days of a yearly payment (the first one or a renewal), email us and we will refund it in full. After that, you keep full access until the end of the paid year and the plan does not renew.
Founding families: if you are one of our founding families, you can ask for your money back within 30 days of your first payment, for any reason.
Extra page packs are not refundable once pages have been typed up with them. If you have not used any of the pack, email us within 14 days and we will refund it.
Gifts are paid once and never renew. An unused gift code can be refunded to the person who bought it within 30 days of purchase. Once a code has been used, it is not refundable.
If we charged you by mistake (for example, twice), tell us and we will refund the mistake.

Your records after cancelling

We never delete your records just because you cancelled. For 90 days after your plan ends, your account stays open as read-only: you can sign in, look at everything and press “Download all my records”, but you cannot upload new pictures. After 90 days we keep your records until you ask us to delete them, and we delete them when you ask. To start again, just choose a plan on the Plan page.

Failed payments

If a monthly payment fails, Stripe tries again and we send you a message. While it is unpaid your account is read-only. Your records are safe; nothing is deleted.
